Hello May! With the spring rains and snow over I’m sprinting into May with lots of excitement. Going to move into some themes for the first few weeks in May. I’m going to start with a week covering intentionality.
The purpose of life is to live, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experiences.” – Eleanor Roosevelt
To the ancient Greeks to live with arete meant living to our greatest potential in all that we do. To do this you have to have intention. Do we move to fast from moment to moment and call it living intentionally? Or, is it just reacting moment to moment? I wonder how much more we could be if we would be more present. Intentionality can ground you. So, excited to begin this month with that.
Further into the month I’ll be going after compassion. The Dalai Lama had this to say on that subject:
Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them humanity cannot survive.
We’re going to pause and explore one of the most powerful of virtues with compassion. We commonly get compassion and empathy intermixed. I’d like to really study this and explore it through a study I read, the Four Components of Nonviolent Communication. I believe with today’s divisiveness and instant call to anger all around us, a reminder about compassion could be worthy.
Then to warp it up I will revisit simplicity as I prepare for the summer heading into June. How can we audit out daily schedule and find more time to for space to create and do what we truly want to do? How can we better cultivate our awareness in every moment?
Reduce the noise, focus on the essentials, and keep it simple.
Should be a great month to be a follower and reader.
Cannot wait to hear feedback you might have this month as we cover those topics. Thanks for reading and I hope your week is already on its way to becoming amazing.
