“A coach asked me at one point in my boxing career if I wanted to be the next Muhammad Ali. Do I wanna do that? I said I did. The coach said, ‘Okay. Is that a dream or a goal? Because there’s a difference. Because a dream is something you fantasize about that will probably never happen. A goal is something you plan for, work toward, and achieve.’ I always looked at my stuff that way.” – Evander Holyfield
A dream or a goal? We have a lot of dreams about doing something. But, the really great dreams that come true have to come from a deep passion to move and plan to achieve them. Otherwise, well, as Evander shared in his lesson with his coach above, they probably will never happen.
Think about what you’ve been going after and chasing this past week or what you want in this next week. Are you just dreaming about it? Pondering it? Or, are you moving on it? Are you obsessed about mapping out milestones to get from A to B? Your wildest and best dreams deserve a plan, a goal, and some movement behind them. If more of us spent less time conceptualize what it could be and driving instead to what it will be, there would be a lot more boxers out there.
Best of the weekend to you all. Thanks for the views!
