“Don’t be intimidated by the blank page. Everyone has something interesting and meaningful to say – it’s just figuring our what that is.”
– Brooks Jackson
The blank page in front of you is just a idea. A blank page doesn’t always mean an actual blank page. What have you always been wanting to do, seen the opportunity to do it, and just can’t take the next step? Almost everyone that reads this is going to have that realization from at least one point or two in their lives. My best advice, just take the first tiny next step.
A tiny next step can be the difference between actually pursuing your passion or not. You won’t know until you get it out of you. You may think that what you have to share or say to the word with your creativity will land flat on its face with no interest at all. I’m an example to share that won’t be the case. Why?
There will be at least one person out there somewhere, that will be interested in what you have to share creatively. You may save someone else’s life with what you share. You’re not always going to get comments that let you know or even a “like” to guide you. All that to say, it doesn’t matter, just share. Because what you have to share, what you have that is meaningful to you is meaningful to someone else. Just keep putting it out there.
What about that blank page? It’s not always an actual blank canvas or page. It can sometimes be someone you share you idea with. Someone who will listen and give you feedback you need to achieve maximum velocity with your creative share to the world. Everyone starts with a blank page. And, it is intimidating. Just start. One step can be the momentum that takes you into the next. Before you know it, you’re not looking at a blank any more. You’re staring at a masterpiece.
But, you’ll never get there if you don’t explore. Spend a little time discovering and getting feedback. I certainly wouldn’t be here today with a blog and podcast three years later if I didn’t at least take that next tiny step. I’m so glad I’m here. And, I know I’ve impacted others with my work.
Good luck and I cannot wait to read or hear what you have to share! The rest of the world is waiting for you as well.
