Today’s moment sounds simple enough. But for many of us it’s not. Like at all, not easy.
I have learned starting my day with some type of gratitude exercise though, is a great start. There is so much we take for granted to be grateful about because we don’t really pause to think about it first.
Our first thoughts are usually geared towards a goal of “next” instead of a goal to be still, present, reflect.
What are you doing with your first morning minutes? Do you have 5 minutes you can spare before you rush into your day? That’s all it takes to rise first with thankfulness for what is great in your life.
I’ll start.
I’m grateful for the mistakes I’ll make today or yesterday, because I can learn what not to do or do something better.
I’m grateful for you the reader. Wanting to follow or read my crazy shares or what’s in my head. That you’re curious enough to learn or have some plan for why this place is somewhere you land when I post.
I’m grateful I can see the changes in the seasons. The palettes of colors I get to take in while I’m driving or running outdoors. Those colors are breath taking some days right when I need it the most. I’m grateful I can see them all, for my sense of vision.
Hope you can find some time in your start this morning to be grateful.
✌🏻 Shawn
